After quite a lot of turns fighting a stalemate with inferno, I got a random event saying a surge of divine power or something undid one of the seals moving it to 6 unlocked. An infernal portal was opened from the random event regarding the cultists in a hamlet or something. Playing as Voice of El, I had unlocked 5 seals.

Ironically Voice of El is probably the most notable one with the crusade and inquisition rituals plus free spawn, but Cloud Lords (and Warlocks I think) have perpetual storm, Trolls have the Troll Forest. There's also classes that naturally lend themselves to an offhand approach. I often like to pair myself with one so I can explore more of the planes while paying less attention to Elysium. However, it's also the easiest to avoid of all events! Just make sure not to select Voice of El as an enemy faction, and either don't allow randoms or turn on score graphs so you can check if they're in the game after it started.Įdit: You can also team up with the AI and let them handle the dirty work while you goof off. The 7 seals is just plane horrible, with no way to end the constant spawning of enemies across the map as the deserts slowly spread. The Hades Monument can be ended by destroying the statue. That in particular is probably the most tedious version of an endgame possible short of ant infestations.Īn inferno invasion alone from the related event can be ended by closing the portal that opened and leaving a garrison behind to prevent it from being reopened. That said, what you describe sounds like the result of the Voice of El class unlocking all 7 seals. I won't deny that the end game can be tedious on larger maps if you're not a class with teleportation rituals. It would be cool if they focused attacks on some of the locusts and plague demons (their assumed lore enemies), but instead they seem to ignore them and instead help them perpetuate by flying haphazardly in all directions to murder random town guards, possibly giving the AI player opportunities to infest those areas. I understand it is supposed to be some kind of armageddon clock but it just seems to drag the game instead, especially the angelic armies that fly around faster than you can chase them down, restoring fog of war to create more trash. It just felt like time wasted, and I regret doing so, so I made a rant.
